 The women’s liberation movement started 200 years ago, shaping and amplifying their voices to govern themselves. The reverse coin of their struggle, rights holders of the feminism movement push for bitter resistance towards addressing their needs and aspirations.

During the traditional period, it was the duty of the man to carry out tasks outside the home, while women carried out domesticity within the home.

With the advent of the industrial period, new rules were created intended to break the natural order. New jobs came into existence that was plausibly suited for women.

There is numerous proliferation of women camps in the country, demanding equal footing with men.

The first noteworthy book to demand equal rights for women was published in London in 1792. Authored by Mary Wollstonecraft, entitled, “A Vindication of the Rights of Woman.” The book epitomizes the need for equal terms with men.

English Orientalist, Edward William Lane, published a book in London in 1843. In his foreword, Lane writes, “the fatal point in Islam was the degradation of woman.” This remark gained much currency in western societies as a yardstick to criticize Islam.

The allegations of Lane show he was not prudent and level-minded, without any knowledge in Islam.

Fourteenth hundred years ago, Islam empowered women in all facets of their life, to avert creating perversion in society. Islam positioned them strategically for their good growth in society.

The Qur’an states in Surah An Nisa, aya 33-34, “men are the protectors and maintainers of women.” This does not imply the superiority of men over women but rather calls for separate spheres of roles and responsibilities.

Surah “An Nisa,” the surah for women in the Holy Qur’an, has clearly shouldered their rights and duties, but many feminists show non-impression to read the Qur’an.

Feminist writers in the country are active on their toes willy-nilly to empower themselves on their new set of rules.

Professor H.J. Eysenck, the inventor of Intelligence Quotient [I.Q], proves that men score higher on logical and deductive problems whilst women do better verbal skills.

Renowned feminist writer Margaret Mead argued, “All the claims so glibly made about societies ruled by women are nonsense.

“We have no reason to believe that they ever existed… Men have always been the leaders in public affairs and the final authorities at home.

“Does that mean that men are better than women“? Professor Goldberg wags a warning finger. “Not better, but different.”

Undoubtedly, women contributed significantly per capita towards the socio-economic development of any country.

The endemic nature of their exploitation in all parts of the public is quite alarming. In addition, there are numerous problem facing women across communities, including sex abuse, unemployment rate plus, others.

The unrealistic approach of feminists has led to many women engaging in all sorts of banditry activities in order to survive.

Feminist writers should move their lenses into a more realistic approach of activism towards healing women’s material and social problems.
