Brikama Area Council, under the leadership of its Chairperson, Yankuba Darboe has on Friday made a landmark announcement: over D8 million has been allocated in the 2025 budget for student scholarships.
According to the office of the Chairman, a “full scholarship packages were awarded to over 300 deserving students from English and Arabic institutions”.
This amount has doubled in 2025 allocation, which aims to expand the initiative to over 600 students applicants and continuing support for returning beneficiaries.
Chairman Darboe emphasized that his council believes that empowering education will drive regional growth and development.
