President Adama barrow has demanded full scale of accountability in the controversial sale of Jammeh assets. He made these remarks in a state of the nation address on Wednesday at State House.
He said the Janneh commission of enquiry establish under his administration concluded it’s work in march 2019.
He further added that in may 2019 the ministry of justice has recommended a ministerial tax force to oversee the lawful and transparent disposal of assets.
The ministry of justice has revealed the list of assets, which includes the sale of livestock, tractors, vehicles and other valuables during the active proceedings of the commission.
“There would have been an independent investigative panel to get to the bottom of the sale assets within the arrangement of the constitutional framework I have always prioritize acting in collaboration with the National Assembly and the national audit office both of which are already conducting inquiries in to the matter, their findings will be made public.” he said.
He concluded that his administration is committed to transparency in the sale of the controversial sale of Jammeh assets.
