Mr. Sourahata B. Semega-Janneh, Chairperson of the Janneh Commission, on Tuesday appeared before the Special Select Committee established to Investigate on the Sale and Disposal of Assets identified by the ‘Janneh Commission’ associated with former President Jammeh.
During the hearing, the Committee inquired on the Establishment and Appointment of Commissioners, Lead Counsel and Support Staff of the Commission, Internal Administrative clarity and Oversight Mechanisms.
The Chairperson was also questioned on the Commission’s Financial and Operational Independence from the Ministry of Justice, as well as influence of High Court Orders and Asset custody decision on the Commission’s Work.
