Gov’t establish committee to review telecoms price regulation

President Adama Barrow, upon consultation with Cabinet ministers on the recent price regulation introduced by the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) has established a High-Level committee to review regulations in the telecommunications sector.




The committee is composed of various government institutions.



“The Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy. The Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs. The Ministry of Justice. The Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment. The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority. The Gambia Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.”.




Members of the Committee will conduct a thorough and impartial review of the recent pricing in the telecommunications sector, basing their findings on evidence.
