The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST) officially handed over the newly completed University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (USET) Brikama Campus to the Vice Chancellor in a landmark ceremony held 29th August.
This development marks a pivotal moment for technical and engineering education in The Gambia.
Funded by the World Bank’s ACE Impact forstu for Development Project, the modern campus is equipped with cutting-edge facilities, including 12 classrooms, five studios, 28 offices, a 250-seat auditorium, a conference meeting room, 15 advanced engineering laboratories, and four specialized workshops for welding, automotive, mechanical, and theory of machines.
These workshops are fitted with state-of-the-art machinery and tools, positioning USET as a hub for fostering innovation and professional development.
The handover underscores MoHERST’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and empowering the next generation of Gambian innovators.
The new campus is expected to significantly boost USET’s capacity to deliver high-quality, hands-on training in science, engineering, and technology, aligning with the nation’s development goals.
The Brikama Campus will provide students with world-class resources to excel in technical fields, driving innovation and economic growth.
