NAWEC signs Performance Contract with SOE


The National Water and Electrical Company (NAWEC) signed a Performance Contract with the State Owned-Enterprise Commission on Tuesday at Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara Conference in Bijilo.

The Performance Contract aims to make NAWEC profitable and improve service delivery.
 
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Bai Madi Ceesay Executive Secretary of State Own- Enterprise Commission said they have eight performance contracts out of thirteen State Own- Enterprise.

He said the contract is meaningful for SOEs as it would make SOE accountable but he added it is a process therefore it won’t change the SOE overnight.  

He said this is an instrument to transform SOE in terms of financial contracts, Governance and management

He further added that  “it is the role of nawec to honor the performance contract” he said.

Gallo Saidy Director of NAWEC said  they will work collectively to achieve the objective of the performance contract.

He added that the target is anchored to move NAWEC to profitability, therefore, this will provide that opportunity. He further added they will do their best and they want other parties to do the same.
