Operation Sanity Task force embarks enforcing anti-littering in KM
Operation Sanity Task-force on Monday, 27 January 2025 embarked enforcing the by laws on anti-littering in Kanifing Municipality starting with Old Jeshwang.
According to the by laws, those who dump waste, private sewage pipes, old cars, sands and gravels can be fined D1000 and above.
The Anti-Littering Manager, Musa Manneh, said they have fined some people in Old Jeshwang for not having private sewage pipes, old cars, sands and gravels or having waste on the road.
Meanwhile, he said the Operation Sanity went smoothly without many major hindrances from the people.
He said those who are fined are given 72 hours to remove the things or else they will be fined again if they failed to comply.
Operation Sanity is initiated by Kanifing Municipality Council to enforce the removal of sands and gravel, private sewage pipes, disposal of products and hazardous substances on the road.
