The Police in Old Yundum are investigating a suspected case of murder involving the death of a woman in her 60s.Preliminary findings indicate that the deceased was assaulted by a neighbor, 31 years old Kemo Manneh.
Reportedly, attempted to sexually assault a 12 years old girl, and the victim intervened, leading to her subsequent brutal assault. The victim was evacuated and rushed to the hospital, where she was admitted. She succumbed to her injuries on Monday, March 31, 2025.The minor was also taken to the hospital, where a medical examination confirmed that there was no penetration.
The suspect has been arrested and remains in police custody as investigations continue.The Gambia Police Force assures the public of its firm commitment to ensuring that justice is served and will provide further updates as the investigation progresses
