The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST) has recently awarded scholarships to the ten best graduating students of the University of The Gambia (UTG) Class of 2024.
The Excellence Award, established by the Ministry, is designed to recognise and support outstanding academic achievement. The ten recipients were selected based on their exceptional performance in their respective fields of study.
The Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Professor Pierre Gomez, officially presenting the letters of commitment to the awardees during a ceremony organised to celebrate their achievements.“To the ten best graduates; your hard work has set you apart.
You have not merely passed examinations; you have excelled academically. You have not just earned degrees; you have earned respect,” Professor Gomez stated. He also urged the graduates to remain humble and curious as they transition into the next phase of their lives, referencing Socrates: “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.”
