Voluntary Local Review Launched

 

 

 

 

The Banjul City Council (BCC) in partnership with the UN Habitat has today launched the Voluntary Local Review for the City of Banjul.

 

 

 

The Voluntary Local Review process has emerged as a critical tool for local and regional governments, enabling them to align city priorities with national and global development frameworks while fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration. 

 

 

 

The event held in Banjul, saw the attendance of UN officials, stakeholders and people from different walks of life to device strategies for the full implementation of the project.

 

 

 

 Rohey Malick Lowe, Mayor of Banjul thanked the UN and its partners for their invaluable support in facilitating the launching of the Voluntary Local Review for the City of Banjul. 

 

 

 

“It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I present this Voluntary Local Review of the City of Banjul, a significant milestone in our collective journey toward sustainable development in Banjul.” she said. 

 

 

 

The sustainable development goals she said, provide a comprehensive framework for environmental sustainability. “It reflects our vision for Banjul, a city that prioritises social equity, economic opportunity, and environmental sustainability.”.
