China Great Wall, is one of the seven wonders of the medieval world. It has attracted thousands of tourist and foreign visitors.
Located in the North West of China. It serves as a tourist hub and a symbol of peace.
According to historians it was built around 1644 AD. The Great Wall was built in the Spring and Autumn period and warring states period more than 2,000 years ago.
Seven dynasties contributed to the building of the Great Wall. The existing remains of the Great Wall are mainly the Ming Great Wall built in the 14th century.
Zhang Jun, a historian explained the rationale of the Great Wall.
“The reason was to protect China from the enemies. It took two years to build the Great Wall. The Great wall also serves as a symbol of peace.” he said.
According to the data released by the State Adminstration of Cultural Relics in 2012, the total length of the Great Wall in previous dynasties was 21,196.18 kilometers.
The total length of the Ming Great Wall is 8851.8 kilometers.
The Greats Wall is a great miracle created by the ancient working people of China and a witness to Chinaʼs long history.
