The Gambia Police Force (GPF) has taken a strong stance against traffic violations with the launch of their latest initiative, dubbed “Operation No Compromise”.
This nationwide traffic enforcement exercise kicked off on Thursday, resulting in 362 vehicles and 18 motorcycles being intercepted for various offences. These included illegal tinted glasses, expired road tax, and operating without number plates.
The police reported that out of the intercepted vehicles, 233 were lacking official number plates, 107 had unauthorized tinted glasses, and 22 were operating without valid 2025 road tax. Those whose vehicles were caught were given the opportunity to rectify their documentation. Many took advantage of this and were released after fulfilling the necessary requirements.
The Gambia Police Force emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations for the safety of the public on the roads. They also stated that “Operation No Compromise” will continue to be enforced nationwide, as part of their efforts to strengthen road safety and ensure full compliance with traffic laws.
