A woman has died and several others were injured following a tragic road accident in Nyanga Batang, Central River Region North yesterday.
Eyewitnesses said the incident involved a commercial vehicle locally known as “gelé gelé,” which reportedly lost control after one of its tyres suddenly burst.
The vehicle is said to have overturned, leaving passengers trapped and injured.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while other passengers sustained injuries of varying degrees. They were quickly evacuated and rushed to a nearby health facility for treatment.
Residents described the scene as chaotic, with bystanders scrambling to rescue victims from the wreckage moments after the crash.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
